Tianjin 天津 1

Tianjin was used as a brand name more than once in the history of Tianjin Watch Factory. In its appearance in the 1970s it was a grade 3 watch, suggesting that it was a way to deal with movements that didn't meet the grade 1 standard. The 'J' dial indicates that it was assembled by Jinyan Assembly Factory. Tianjins with 'J' dials appear on the market now with various mixes of parts. It is possible that replacement parts have accumulated in them over the years.
Often 'J' dial Tianjins have movements marked with what looks like a letter 'E' near the balance, something which is extremely uncommon in other ST5 brands. The mark near the Dongfeng logo is a '付', indicating the watch is flawed, but still good enough for use. The crown is unsigned.
