Butterfly was the top brand name of Hongqi Watch Factory. This automatic Butfly model has an unusual Xian-made movement. It was perhaps an attempt to manufacture a thin automatic movement, but it is needlessly complicated. The crown and bracelet are signed with the Butterfly logo. The factory name on the caseback suggests that it was manufactured in 1987 or earlier, as the factory changed its name to Hudie Watch Factory in that year.
