Hongdeng (red lantern) was the brand name of watches produced by Wuxi County Watch Factory. The numbers on the back of this well-used example are possibly a date. Under the balance it is marked BA above 3SZ1A, suggesting that at least part of the movement was manufactured by Shanghai No. 3 Watch Factory, evidence to the belief that the factory may have assembled movements from parts sourced from elsewhere. The Suzhou crown is probably a replacement.
